Continuing their improbable winning streak, the Pink Panthers continued their strong performance on a beautiful Sunday afternoon at Sturges Field to take home the 2014 AAA Championship. The Purple Knights put on a strong performance and battled hard till the end. Well done Pink Panthers!
In a dream match-up of Fairfield vs. Fairfield , Budd vs. Goodchild, 6-year veteran FLLGS players vs. their 6-year veteran friends, we could not have asked for a better end to the Junior Season and for most, their Little League careers. Playing their final game at Dougiello Park, these two teams fought hard. After being down 3-0 after one inning, things looked bleak for Fairfield "1". However, their bats came alive in the middle innings and they held on for an 11-5 victory. Fairfield "2" played strong and tough and were a worthy opponent. A great way to finish the season and Little League. We are proud of our Junior girls for putting together such a terrific season.
In a rematch of the Jamboree Finals that took place in May, Las Uvas battled against the Stealers well into Sunday evening after a 45-minute "sun" delay. Tied 1-1 going into the 5th inning, the Stealers exploded with 3 runs to take a commanding lead. The Las Uvas team battled hard all game and should be proud of their team performance. The Stealers added one more on the 6th inning to complete the scoring. Final score: Stealers: 5 - Las Uvas: 1
The Green Gators scored three runs with two outs in the top of the fourth inning to take a one run lead, then escaped a bases loaded jam in the bottom of the inning to win the AA Jamboree final 5-4 over the Red Hot Chili Peppers. What a fantastic finish to a great day of fast pitch softball for all of our AA teams - well done ladies!
